에 / 에서: Place and time: 에 and 에서
Place + 에 = where you go or where something is (가다, 오다, 있다). Place + 에서 = where an action happens (일하다, 먹다, 공부하다). Time + 에 = at or on a time.
How to make it

Example sentences
- 저는 주말에 시장에 가요.
I go to the market at the weekend. - 형은 공장에서 일해요.
My older brother works in a factory. - 휴대폰이 가방에 있어요.
The phone is in the bag. - 우리는 식당에서 점심을 먹어요.
We eat lunch at a restaurant. - 저녁에 기숙사에서 쉬어요.
In the evening I rest at the dormitory.
Compare
- 에 vs 에서: 학교에 가요. / 학교에서 공부해요.
Ask yourself: does an action happen at the place? Yes → 에서. Only going there or being there → 에.
Common mistakes
회사에 일해요→ 회사에서 일해요
Working is an action at the place, so 에서.집에서 있어요→ 집에 있어요
있다 (be somewhere) takes 에, not 에서.
